Fr Tim, is a Priest serving in a parish in Canada and some years ago one of his parishioners went on a pilgrimage to Medjugorje. When she came back , she was full of enthusiasm for her faith, and started a prayer group. By the following year all 30 of them went to Medjugorje and all came back as keen as mustard.
They were hassling him for holy hours, vigils, days of prayer as well as telling him all about it, giving him leaflets, messages of Our Lady, rocks off mountains, you name it.
Even the customary moments of solitude on a Saturday morning (in the confessional box) were gone as a mob of repentant sinners lined up eager to receive GodŪs mercy & forgiveness.
Enough was enough ! He decided to go to Medjugorje and see for himself.
He travelled ŽincognitoŪ so as not to be recognised as a Priest so he could just weigh it all up for himself (and get a bit of peace). As he flew over the Atlantic he was praying and in his heart he asked God to show him if Medjugorje was for real, whether Our Lady was really appearing and giving messages for the world, to confirm it in some small way.
For the next week nothing extraordinary happened, he liked it and had a good pilgrimage but nothing out of the ordinary. That is until his last day. He visited a Monastery close by to hear a talk given by Fr Jozo, who was the parish Priest of Medjugorje when the apparitions began. The talk was given through an interpreter as Fr Jozo does not speak English.
He enjoyed the talk, but felt a bit disturbed at he end when Fr Jozo seemed to be staring straight at him. Then he started grinning at him. Then he started chuckling and approached him.
Fr Jozo greeted him by saying , ž Hello Fr ThomasÓ . Fr Tim looked back at him and said žno..my name is TimÓ
Fr Jozo said žno, no, ThomasÓ and leaned over and whispered in his ear the exact prayer he had prayed a week earlier on the aeroplane, in perfect English.
My Lord and my God÷..then they both laughed !
